Today we are heading to Rolling Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills Estates to see "Pageant of Our Lord". We love this show so much! Some of us have seen it several times before, and some of us are seeing it for the very first time. It never gets old, it's beautifully done, and I'm sure this won't be our last time to go. Thank you Queen Carol N for arranging the day for us.

Rolling Hills Covenant Church has been presenting "Pageant of Our Lord" for 35 years. Their description of the event reads, "Renowned works of art come to life during this theatrical event, which includes a full orchestra, original script, and breathtaking re-creations of classical paintings and sculptures depicting the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Christ. What makes the artwork so unique is the use of models, both adults and children, who pose within each piece to replicate the original paintings and sculptures."

The church itself is beautiful, and one of the first things you notice when you come on campus in the beautiful bell tower.

Whenever we go somewhere all decked out in purple with our Red Hats, we never know what might happen. Today was no exception. As we were waiting for the doors to open, this adorable little girl came up to us, told us how much she loved our hats, and asked if we would take a photo with her. Of course, we agreed and her mom quickly snapped the pic. Sadly, I didn't hand off my camera in time to get one for us.

Inside the lobby, the mom came up to us and started talking. Her name is Summer Dey and it turns out that she wrote and leads an online weekly bible study for women called "Fear Into Faith". The study leads you through the entire bible in 52 weeks. She is a lovely person and we all really enjoyed talking with her. And, our own Sharon K is part of her bible study. Such a small world we live in.

Before Covid shut the world down, the church allowed visitors to peak into the backroom and watch as the actors had their make-up applied and were preparing to step into the art pieces. This is no longer allowed, but there were some photos on the wall that gave a little idea of what goes on behind the scenes.

No photography of any kind is allowed during the performance, so here are some photos copied from the program of some of the art pieces that were presented. Besides the living art, the event features two narrators, a full orchestra and choir. It is quite amazing!

What a perfect way to celebrate our amazing Lord and Savior just before Easter. Thanks again Queen Carol N, we had a wonderful day.
