It's summer. It's HOT! So instead of going somewhere and dealing with the heat, we're meeting at Noble-Torian Manor for a nice lunch and to play some games.

First order of business . . . Lunch!

Circling up to bless the meal before we dig in.

Yummy chicken enchiladas, Spanish rice, salad, and grapes. YUM!

After enjoying the delicious food and chatting and sharing some laughs, we dug out the games.

Our first game was Tenzi. The basic object of the game is for each player to have ten dice in her hand which she rolls all at the same time, with a goal of getting all ten dice on the same number. So whatever number she has the most of on the first roll she keeps, and then rolls the rest of the dice until she gets all ten on that same number. There is also a card deck with lots of variations, and that's what we used. Some of the games were super silly, and we spent more time laughing than we did rolling.

Here we are in action!

After playing numerous rounds of Tenzi, it was time for a dessert break.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Back to the game table, our next choice was Left-Center-Right. This is a luck/strategy game where each players starts with three chips. Players take turns rolling dice which indicate if you keep your chips or if you pass a chip to the player on your left, the player on your right, or into the pot in the center of the table. The last player holding chips is the winner.

The whole day was simple, casual, relaxed, and just so nice to be together for the afternoon. Thanks Queens Carol N and Joy for hosting. Let's have another game day again real soon!
